Your Procedure, Your Enhancement

Dr. Galante performs breast reduction as an outpatient procedure while the patient is under general anesthesia. He removes excess skin, fat, and tissue from the breast. During the surgery, the nipple also will be repositioned, and if desired, he can reduce the size of the areola (the darker skin surrounding the nipple). The breast is then reshaped to create a physically smaller, yet natural-looking breast contour. This procedure also creates more youthful and elevated breasts, similar to a breast lift. Indiana breast reduction patients of Dr. Galante will enjoy breasts that are not only smaller and lighter, but also more aesthetically pleasing.

The majority of Dr. Galante's reduction patients are extremely happy with the physical and emotional improvements they gain from their surgery. Although scars cannot be avoided, patients feel they are an acceptable trade-off for a more youthful and comfortable breast shape. Breast reduction surgeries have some of the highest patient satisfaction rates, which is partially due to the patient's enhanced quality of life after the procedure.

Insurance Coverage

Because of the health problems that can result from significantly large breasts and because of the benefits of breast reduction surgery, some insurance companies will cover part or all of the procedure expense. We are happy to assist you in determining if your insurance company will cover your procedure, how much of the procedure will be covered, and help you obtain and forward the required information to your insurance company; however, it is ultimately each patient's responsibility to obtain proper authorizations prior to surgery.

One of the factors insurance companies use for deciding coverage is the degree of physical problems that you are experiencing. If you have overly large breasts, you are probably experiencing many of the typical symptoms, such as neck, back, or shoulder pain; grooves in your shoulders from your bra straps; rashes; and difficulty participating in certain high-impact activities.

Because each woman considering breast reduction surgery is unique, and each can suffer from a variety of physical ailments to different degrees, coverage tends to be unique to each potential patient. If your insurance does not cover the procedure or if you are uninsured, we can direct you to patient financing online.
